Two Joint Secretaries Granted Premature Repatriation on Personal Grounds

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved premature repatriation of Shri Ashish Kumar Gupta (JS, MoSPI) and Shri Satya Pratap Singh (JS, Department of Justice) to their parent cadres on personal grounds with extended cooling-off.
Two Joint Secretaries Granted Premature Repatriation on Personal Grounds

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the premature repatriation of two Joint Secretaries to their respective parent cadres on personal grounds, with the imposition of extended ‘cooling off’.

Both orders were issued on 8 September 2026 by the Department of Personnel & Training.

Officers Repatriated

1. Shri Ashish Kumar Gupta, IOFS (2002)

  • Current posting: Joint Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation

  • Action: Premature repatriation to parent cadre on personal grounds with extended cooling-off

  • Reference: Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation note dated 17 August 2026

2. Shri Satya Pratap Singh, IDAS (2003)

  • Current posting: Joint Secretary, Department of Justice

  • Action: Premature repatriation to parent cadre on personal grounds with extended cooling-off

The approvals were conveyed by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Copies of the orders have been marked to the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, the concerned administrative ministries, and the officers concerned.
