NALCO Fined Rs 10.85 Lakh for SEBI Non-Compliance – 2026 Update
Mumbai, 5 March 2026: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Government of India enterprise, has received a notice for non-compliance with SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
The notice, issued by BSE and NSE, relates to non-compliance with Regulation 17(1) of the SEBI Listing Regulations, which mandates timely disclosure of certain corporate governance matters. Consequently, NALCO has been fined Rs 5,42,800 by each exchange, totaling Rs 10,85,600 (inclusive of 18% GST).
The delay was reportedly due to an inadvertent oversight, as email communications from BSE (5:49 PM) and NSE (10:18 PM) on 27 February 2026 were not immediately noticed. The subsequent two days, 28 February and 1 March, were off days, so the issue was attended to only on 2 March 2026. The company promptly informed the stock exchanges on the same day.
In a statement, B. K. Sahu, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer, emphasized that the penalty does not have a significant impact on NALCO’s financial or operational activities. The company reaffirmed its commitment to regulatory compliance and stated that it will take measures to prevent such inadvertent delays in the future.
NALCO, headquartered at Nalco Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, remains committed to adhering to SEBI regulations and prioritizing corporate governance.
