MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026: 47,000 Essays Submitted by India’s Youth
New Delhi, 5 March 2026: The MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026, organized by Mera Yuva Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has received an overwhelming response from young Indians, with nearly 47,000 essay submissions in the second stage of the competition. The record-breaking participation highlights the growing enthusiasm of the country’s youth to engage with the Union Budget 2026 and contribute ideas towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
The Union Budget 2026 has been recognized as a Yuva Shakti-driven Budget, focusing on empowering young Indians through investments in education, skilling, entrepreneurship, innovation, and future-ready growth opportunities. The MY Bharat Budget Quest provides a platform for youth to understand the budget, reflect on its priorities, and suggest ideas for India’s developmental journey.
Nationwide Participation and Quiz Round
The first stage of the competition was a nationwide online quiz aimed at strengthening youth awareness of the Union Budget. Over 12 lakh participants from across all states and Union Territories took part, with Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal emerging as the top three states in terms of participation.
Top-performing participants were then shortlisted for the Essay Round, where they submitted policy-focused essays on themes aligned with the Union Budget and the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Interaction with the Prime Minister
State and UT-level winners will have the unique opportunity to interact directly with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi starting 15 March 2026. This session will allow them to share ideas and perspectives on the Union Budget and discuss strategies to realize India’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The initiative reflects participatory governance and emphasizes the role of India’s Amrit Peedhi in shaping policies and solutions for the country’s development goals. Organizers note that the competition not only engages youth in policy discussions but also inspires them to contribute actively to India’s journey towards an Atmanirbhar Viksit Bharat by 2047.
