Teesta-VI H.E. Project: NHPC commenced the civil work of Lot-Il package
The Project is a Run of River (RoR) Scheme in Sirwani Village of Sikkim to utilize the power potential of Teesta River Basin in a cascade manner.

Sikkim: The Indian government hydropower board NHPC limited commenced the Civil works of Lot-II package of Teesta-VI H.E. Project (500 MW) commenced on 10.10.2021. The Project is a Run of River (RoR) Scheme in Sirwani Village of Sikkim to utilize the power potential of Teesta River Basin in a cascade manner.
The Civil works of Lot-II package was awarded to M/s Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) on 22.09.2021 for Rs. 1251 Crore. The inaugural concreting in column foundation of Transformer Cavern was poured in the presence of ED, RO Siliguri & CEO, LTHPL.
The early commencement of concreting activity by M/s PEL shows its commitment in the speedy execution of works and it is expected that the works under the package will be completed in a time-bound manner. The commencement of construction activity in Lot-Il package will pave the way for completion of the critical works for the commissioning of the Teesta-VI H.E. Project in Sikkim.
