NMDC Director (Finance) Role Remains Vacant After PESB Review

New Delhi, July 21, 2025. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), which operates under the Department of Personnel & Training, has announced that no candidate has been recommended for the position of Director (Finance) at NMDC Limited. This decision came after its latest selection meeting held today in the capital.

The meeting, numbered 63/2025, started at 2:30 PM and was held to evaluate senior finance professionals for a top leadership role at NMDC, a Schedule 'A' Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Steel. Ten candidates from various CPSEs were shortlisted and interviewed.

Despite the strong and diverse group of candidates, the PESB board did not find any person suitable for recommendation to this important financial role. The Board, committed to quality and transparency, has suggested that the Administrative Ministry explore other selection options. This could include a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC), pending approval from the appropriate authority.

This outcome highlights the strict selection standards that PESB applies for top executive roles in public sector enterprises. It also shows the importance of aligning strategic positions with the right leadership profiles.
