NRHQ conducts awareness Session on Waste Management and Environmental Protection

Lucknow, May 29, 2025: As part of the Swachhta Pakhwada observance from 16–31 May 2025, an awareness session on Waste Management and Environmental Protection was organized for the employees of NRHQ, Lucknow.
The session was graced by Shri N.S. Rao, Regional Executive Director (North), who welcomed the guest speaker, Shri R.K. Singh, Former Head, CPCB, Regional Directorate, Lucknow, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
During the session, Shri Singh highlighted various aspects of waste management and environmental protection, with a focus on industrial practices, including those followed by NTPC. He emphasized the importance of adopting proactive and cleaner technologies to reduce waste generation.

Shri Singh also encouraged small lifestyle changes, such as avoiding the use of polythene bags by carrying reusable bags & proper disposal of milk pouches etc. He stressed the principle: "If you cannot reuse it, refuse it," as a key message to promote long-term environmental sustainability.
The session was interactive, with participants engaging actively and raising queries to address common misconceptions related to everyday habits and sustainable living.
