ONGC Invites Bids for Supply of HEDP Chemical

New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has invited bids through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal for the supply of Hydro Ethylidene Di Phosphonic Acid (HEDP), an important industrial chemical used in oil and gas operations. The tender has been issued by ONGC’s Central Procurement Department and aims to strengthen the company’s operational supply chain across multiple regions in the country.

Under the tender, ONGC is seeking a total quantity of 214,020 kilograms of HEDP to be delivered to its operational locations in Assam, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The bid submission will close on January 19, 2026 at 3:00 PM, and the bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM. The offer validity period has been fixed at 90 days from the bid closing date.

The procurement process follows a two-packet bidding system, with mandatory post-dispatch inspection to ensure quality compliance. ONGC has also enabled the reverse auction mechanism to promote transparent and competitive pricing. All supplied material will be subject to strict quality checks at ONGC-approved laboratories before final acceptance.

In line with the Government of India’s manufacturing and procurement policies, ONGC has extended strong support to domestic suppliers. Purchase preference has been provided to Make in India manufacturers for up to 50 percent of the total quantity and to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) for up to 25 percent of the quantity. Only eligible Class 1 and Class 2 local suppliers are permitted to participate in the bidding process.
