Prestigious Chennai Port Chairperson Post Vacant—Centre Issues Call for Applications
India invites eligible senior officers to apply for the Chairperson post at the Chennai Port Authority. Applications must be submitted online via SUPREMO before December 2, 2025.
The Government of India has initiated the appointment process for a new Chairperson of the Chennai Port Authority under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The vacancy will be filled on deputation, following the exit of the previous Chairperson.
As per the latest directive from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), officers empanelled at Joint Secretary level or eligible Port Officers with the required leadership experience can apply. The role offers Level 14 pay for central officers and the corresponding IDA scale for port employees.
Applicants must have at least two years of service left and maintain a “Very Good” APAR record for the past five years. All applications must be submitted online via the SUPREMO portal, with no physical submissions allowed.
The application deadline is December 2, 2025. The selected officer will lead critical functions in port management, maritime operations, and infrastructure development at one of India’s major ports.
