RailTel Secures Major Rs 209.78 Crore Order from Bihar Education Project Council

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has been awarded a Rs 209.78 crore contract for improving education in Bihar under the PM SHRI scheme. The project aims to modernize schools with advanced infrastructure and technology.

RailTel Secures Major Rs 209.78 Crore Order from Bihar Education Project Council

New Delhi, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received a significant domestic contract worth Rs 2,09,78,63,937 (around Rs 209.78 crore) from the State Project Director, Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). This order, received on September 12, 2025, is for the "Implementation for Education Quality Enhancement in Bihar under PM SHRI."

The contract strengthens RailTel's position in the education technology field. The company will supply and execute the project to improve the quality of education in Bihar. The completion date is set for September 11, 2026. The company's promoters or promoter group have no ties to the entity that gave the contract.

What is the PM SHRI Scheme?

The PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) scheme is a government-sponsored program started by the Government of India. It aims to upgrade over 14,500 existing schools into "exemplar" schools. The scheme focuses on implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by creating a modern and comprehensive learning environment.

Modern Infrastructure: Schools will be upgraded with facilities like labs, libraries, and art rooms.
