SAIL Rourkela Bids Farewell to 23 Superannuating Employees

Rourkela: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant organised a series of farewell functions on 31 August 2026 to bid adieu to its superannuating employees.

In all, 23 employees were felicitated for their long and dedicated service.

Department-Level Farewells

A function was held at the Samagam Conference Hall of the ED (Works) office.
Mr. Tapan Das, GM (Coke Ovens), Mr. Pancham Prasad, GM (Services), and Mr. K K Behera, GM (CPP-1) were given a warm send-off.

Mr. B R Palai, ED (Works), attended as Chief Guest and presented service certificates along with token gifts.
Several CGMs, Heads of Departments and senior officers were present.

At the ED (Projects) Conference Hall, Mr. S Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), handed over the service certificate and gift to Mr. Ashim Sabat, GM (Projects).
Senior officers of the Projects department attended the event.

At IGH, Dr. J K Acharya, CMO I/C (M&HS), presented the service certificate and token gift to Dr. D P Das, ACMO (Medical).

Combined Farewell at Civic Center

Later in the day, the HR – ER&C Department organised a larger farewell function at the Civic Center.
Mr. Hiralal Moahapatra, CGM (Safety & Fire Services), was the Chief Guest.
Mr. G R Dash, GM (HR-Non-Works), was the Guest of Honour.

The dignitaries appreciated the dedicated service of the retiring employees and wished them good health and happiness in the years ahead.

Coordination and Closing

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Avinash, AGM (HR), Mr. S. K. Nayak, Dy. Manager (HR), Mr. S. P. Majhi, Asst. Manager (HR), and Mr. K. K. Parida, SA (Lab. Welfare).

The event concluded with the presentation of mementos and best wishes.
Colleagues shared warm memories and expressed gratitude for the contributions made by the retirees to the growth of Rourkela Steel Plant.
