Mahindra August Sales Jump: SUVs Rise 50%, Total Auto Sales Up 42%

Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported strong sales growth in August 2026, with SUV sales rising 50% and total vehicle sales increasing 42% year-on-year.

The company sold 59,257 SUVs in the domestic market during August, compared with 39,399 units in the same month last year.

Including exports, Mahindra's total vehicle sales stood at 1,07,648 units, up from the year-ago period. Domestic commercial vehicle sales also grew 22% to 27,415 units.

Mahindra said demand remained strong across its SUV portfolio, with the updated Scorpio-N and BE 6 SPORTEQ receiving a strong response from customers.

Tractor Sales Grow 5%

Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business sold 27,595 tractors in the domestic market in August 2026, registering 5% growth over August 2025.

Total tractor sales, including exports, reached 29,507 units, compared with 28,117 units a year earlier.

The company said improving rainfall and near-normal Kharif sowing have supported rural demand. Government schemes and the upcoming festive season are also expected to support rural sentiment.

Trucks and Buses Sales Rise 47%

Mahindra's Trucks & Buses business recorded sales of 2,495 vehicles in August, including exports, marking a 47% year-on-year increase.

Cargo vehicle sales increased 55% to 1,532 units, while passenger vehicle sales rose 35% to 963 units.

During the month, Mahindra Truck & Bus Division also launched the all-new Mahindra BLAZO iTRK, strengthening its heavy commercial vehicle portfolio.
