New Delhi | January 2026 – Engineers India Limited (EIL), a Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, is set for a key leadership transition. Ms. Vartika Shukla, the current Chairperson & Managing Director (CMD), will retire on 28 February 2026, completing her tenure at the helm of one of India’s premier engineering consultancy firms.

During her term, Ms. Shukla played a pivotal role in expanding EIL’s portfolio and strengthening its presence across the energy sector, including projects in oil and gas, renewable energy, and engineering consultancy services. Her leadership has been widely recognized for driving operational excellence and strategic growth.

Atul Gupta Recommended as Next CMD

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Atul Gupta, currently serving as Director (Commercial) at EIL, for appointment as the next CMD. The appointment is pending final approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), a standard procedure for top-level PSU roles.

Mr. Gupta brings over 33 years of experience at Engineers India Limited, with expertise in project management, commercial negotiations, and business development. He is expected to take charge following Ms. Shukla’s retirement, ensuring continuity in leadership and strategic direction.

Under the new leadership, EIL is expected to continue its focus on:
