WCL's spectacular victory in Coal India Inter Company Kabaddi Tournament 2024-25

Western Coalfields Limited performed brilliantly in the Coal India Inter Company Kabaddi Tournament 2024-25 held from 16 to 18 January 2025 at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) headquarters and won the title by defeating SECL by a huge margin of 46-27 in the final. Teams of WCL, SECL, CCL, MCL, BCCL, NCL, ECL and SCCL participated in this tournament. A total of 15 matches were organized during the tournament.

As the chief guest of the closing ceremony and prize distribution, WCL Chairman cum Managing Director Shri Jai Prakash Dwivedi praised the players and said that sports like Kabaddi promote team spirit along with physical and mental strength. Special guests of the ceremony, Director (Technical) of WCL Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Finance & Personnel) Shri Bikram Ghosh and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhatre also congratulated the players.

Mr Sahil Kumar of SECL team was declared "Best Raider", Mr Praveen Mangam of WCL was declared "Best Catcher" and Mr Vishal Bhogale of WCL was declared "Man of the Tournament". Trophies, medals and certificates were given to the winning and runner-up teams. On this occasion, members of WCL Steering Committee and Welfare Board, officers and employees were present in large numbers.
