The Nifty PSE index fell by 3.5% on Monday, ending a four-day streak of gains. All 20 stocks listed on the PSE index finished the day in the red. The index has now corrected nearly 20% from its peak on August 1.
Among the top losers during Monday's trading session were:
HPCL: Shares of HPCL, a major oil marketing company in India, dropped by 5.5%, making it the largest loser on the PSE index. This decline ended a four-day gaining streak for the stock. Analysts project a potential upside of 4.2% from current levels.
Oil India: After a strong performance in 2024, where it was regarded as the best PSU stock, Oil India experienced its first down day of the year. The shares fell by 4.9% on Monday, in line with other PSU peers, despite the rising crude oil prices. The stock had previously gained 74% in 2024 and another 15% during the first three trading sessions of 2025.

Similarly, shares of NHPC also fell by 4.6% on Monday, breaking its four-day gaining streak. Among the 10 analysts covering NHPC, five recommend a "buy" rating, with a consensus projecting a possible upside of 21%.
