Kolkata | February 27, 2026: Coal Gas India Limited (CGIL), a joint venture of Coal India Limited and GAIL (India) Limited, has invited applications for the engagement of one Task-Based Advisor (Commercial – BOO/BOOT Projects) on a contractual basis. The engagement is for a specific assignment related to the development of a commercial-scale Coal-to-SNG project.

Job Responsibilities
The selected Advisor will review and analyze the BOO tender floated by CGIL for the Air Separation Unit (ASU), including commercial terms, risk allocation, payment mechanisms, performance guarantees, termination clauses, liability framework, and bankability aspects.
The Advisor will also conduct a comparative analysis with BOO/BOOT tenders issued by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), identify commercial gaps and potential financial or execution risks, and provide recommendations on the suitability of BOO versus BOOT model for CGIL’s ASU requirement.
A detailed advisory report and presentation (if required) must be submitted within the stipulated engagement period.
IL shall be final and binding.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit

Maximum 70 years as on 27.02.2026.
Educational Qualification
-
B.E./B.Tech in Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Service Requirement (Mandatory)
-
Must have served at E9 level or equivalent Board-level/Functional Director/CMD position in Government of India/State Government/CPSE/PSU/Autonomous Body.
Work Experience (Mandatory)
-
Minimum 15 years of experience in contract management, including project structuring, bid management, financial evaluation, and commercial activities.

Mandatory experience in structuring, evaluation, or execution of BOO/BOOT projects at commercial scale
OR -
Experience in tendering work for commercial-scale Coal-to-Chemicals projects under BOO/BOOT mode.
Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Coal-to-Chemicals projects based on Coal Gasification technology.
Remuneration
-
Consolidated honorarium of Rs. 62,500 for the complete 10-day assignment.

Payment will be released upon submission and acceptance of the final advisory report.

TA/DA shall be governed as per CGIL norms.

Applicable taxes will be deducted as per statutory provisions. GST, if applicable, will be reimbursed on submission of proof.
Terms and Conditions
The engagement is purely temporary and task-based. The Advisor will have no claim for regular employment in CGIL. Strict confidentiality of project-related documents must be maintained. The engagement may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason. The Advisor will be accountable for professional advice rendered in writing under signature.
Reporting and Confidentiality
The Advisor will report to the designated CGIL officer. All documents, data, and information accessed during the engagement shall be treated as confidential and must not be disclosed to any third party without prior approval of CGIL.
