ACC Approves One-Year Extension of Rajeev Kumar as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs

New Delhi, February 28, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the extension of central deputation tenure of Shri Rajeev Kumar, IOFS (2000), serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the tenure of Shri Rajeev Kumar has been extended for a period of one year beyond March 5, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The approval follows a reference received from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated December 31, 2025. The official communication was issued by Sakshi Mittal, Director, Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Shri Rajeev Kumar, an Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) officer of the 2000 batch, has been serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs on central deputation.

The extension ensures continuity in administrative leadership within the Ministry.
