New Delhi, February 27, 2026: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the post of Director (Operations & Business Development) at Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL), a Schedule ‘B’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The vacancy has been advertised vide Advt. No. 32/2026 (No. 7/46/2025-PESB) dated February 27, 2026.

 

About BPRL

BPRL was incorporated in October 2006 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to undertake its upstream oil and gas business.

  • Status: Schedule ‘B’ CPSE

  • Administrative Ministry: Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

  • Headquarters: Mumbai, Maharashtra

  • Employees: 40 regular executives (including 3 Board Directors) as of December 31, 2025

Role & Responsibilities

The Director (Operations & Business Development) will be a Board-level position reporting to the Managing Director and will be responsible for:

  • Exploration, appraisal, development, and production operations

  • Asset performance management

  • Business development and targeted growth

  • Profitability and project execution

  • Early monetization strategies

  • Identifying new opportunities and building relationships with government agencies and international operators

 

Eligibility Criteria

Age

  • Minimum age: 40 years

  • Residual service requirement:

    • Internal candidates: Minimum 2 years

    • Others: Minimum 3 years
      (as on the date of vacancy, with respect to superannuation at 60 years)

Qualification

  • Engineering Graduate or

  • Post Graduate in Geo-science

  • From a recognized University/Institution with good academic record

Experience

  • At least 5 years cumulative senior-level experience in the last 10 years

  • Exposure in Operations/Business Development in the Hydrocarbon Exploration & Production sector

Pay Scale

  • ₹65,000 – ₹75,000 (IDA)

  • Applications must be submitted through the PESB website.


Appointment Tenure

The appointment will be for five years from the date of joining or until the date of superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

  • Applicants must provide an undertaking to join if selected.
