Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following:

  • B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg) in Electronics & Telecom, Telecom, Computer Science, Computer & Communication, Information Technology, Electrical, or Electronics

  • M.Sc. (Electronics)

  • MCA (Master of Computer Applications)

  • Any engineering combination where Electronics/IT/Computer Science is one of the branches

 

Experience & Certification Requirements

Deputy Manager (System Admin) - E-1 Level

  • Age: 21 to 30 years (born between April 7, 1995 and April 6, 2005)

  • Experience: 2 years post-qualification in System Administration

  • Required Certification (any one):

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

    • VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA)

Manager (Database Admin) - E-2 Level

  • Age: 23 to 31 years (born between April 7, 1994 and April 6, 2003)

  • Experience: 3 years post-qualification in Database Administration

  • Required Certification (any one):

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

    • MongoDB Certified Database Administrator

    • MySQL Database Administrator

    • Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate

    • PostgreSQL Certified Engineer (CPe)

Manager (IT) - E-2 Level

  • Age: 23 to 31 years

  • Experience: 3 years post-qualification in IT (eOffice deployment OR AI application development)

Senior Manager (IT) - E-3 Level

  • Age: 27 to 34 years

  • Experience: 6 years post-qualification in IT (eOffice OR AI focus)

  • Required Certification (any one): Same as Manager (IT) level


Important Notes on Experience

  • Only post-qualification experience is considered

  • Candidates must submit FIVE documents for each experience claim:

    1. Experience Certificate

    2. Appointment Letter

    3. First Pay Slip

    4. Last Pay Slip

    5. EPF/Bank Statement showing salary credit

  • If deployed through another company, the organization where you actually worked must have ₹300 crore+ turnover

  • Teaching, training, internships, or project work during degree courses will not be counted

SELECTION PROCESS

Stage 1: Shortlisting of applications based on eligibility

Stage 2: If the number of applications is high, RailTel may conduct:

  • Written Test OR

  • Skill Test

Stage 3: Interview of shortlisted candidates

Marks Distribution (if written test conducted):

  • Written/Skill Test: 150 marks

  • Interview: 50 marks

  • Total: 200 marks

  • Minimum qualifying marks: 60% (cumulative)

If only interview:

  • Total marks: 100

  • Qualifying marks: 60%

Final selection will be based on merit and available vacancies.

Step 1: Download the application form format (Annexure-IV) from RailTel's official website: www.railtel.in

Step 2: Fill the form carefully in BLOCK LETTERS

Step 3: Paste a recent passport-size photograph (not more than 3 months old) and sign across it

Step 4: Gather all self-attested copies of required documents:

  • Matriculation certificate (age proof)

  • Educational qualification certificates & mark-sheets

  • Professional certification certificates (valid as on April 6, 2026)

  • Experience documents (all 5 mandatory documents for each job)

  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) - valid as on crucial date

  • Disability certificate (if applicable) in prescribed format

  • No Objection Certificate (if currently in Govt/PSU job)

  • Photo ID proof (Aadhar/PAN/Passport/Driving License/Voter ID)

  • Demand Draft for application fee

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Probation Period: 2 years from the date of joining

Service Agreement: Selected candidates must sign a bond of ₹2 lakh, agreeing to serve RailTel for minimum 3 years

Medical Standards: Must pass C-2 medical standards as per Indian Railway Medical Manual

Resignation: 3 months' notice required. This does not waive the service agreement liability

Background Check: Appointment is provisional until character, antecedents, and document verification is complete


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT INTERVIEW

If shortlisted, candidates must bring these ORIGINAL documents:

  • All educational certificates and mark-sheets

  • Professional certification certificates (valid on interview date)

  • Experience certificates with all supporting documents

  • Caste certificate (for reserved categories)

  • EWS certificate (if applying under EWS quota) - not older than 1 year

  • Disability certificate (if applicable) in prescribed format
