RVNL GM (Design) Recruitment 2026 — Only 1 Candidate Eligible Out of 7 Applicants, Final List Released
New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has published the final eligibility list for its General Manager (Design) post — Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated April 6, 2026 — and the outcome is stark. Out of seven applicants who were evaluated, only one candidate has been declared eligible for the interview stage.
The final list was released on June 10, 2026 by RVNL's Recruitment Cell, with no further representations to be entertained.
The Only Eligible Candidate
Shri Samit Shrivastava (Father: Shri Suresh Kumar Shrivastava) has been declared eligible and will be separately informed about the interview schedule and related details.
Why Six Candidates Were Rejected — Case by Case
The rejections reveal the precise and uncompromising standards RVNL applied — and offer a useful guide for future applicants.
Shri Abhay Kumar was rejected because his experience in design and review of Metro/Railway structures was supported only through a self-declaration. His present employer had not certified the experience, and RVNL made clear that self-certification alone does not meet the prescribed evidence standard.
Shri Dileep Singh fell short on the salary criterion. He is working as Project Manager on a New Kashi Rail-cum-Road Bridge project with a monthly remuneration of ₹2,80,000 — an annual CTC of ₹33.6 lakh, which is below the prescribed minimum of ₹40 lakh per annum. The offer letter he submitted itself confirmed the shortfall.
Shri Vinod Kumar Mauriya submitted no specific employer-certified documents for his design and review experience in Metro/Railway structures. RVNL left a window open — he may be considered if he submits the requisite experience certificate from his employer.
Shri Manoj Kumar Prasad is working in E-6 grade at BHEL — a pay scale of ₹1,00,000–2,60,000 under IDA pattern. RVNL clarified that BHEL's E-6 grade is equivalent to E-7 grade at RVNL, which meets the grade requirement. However, he has been kept as Provisionally Eligible — subject to submission of employer-certified working experience in design/review of Metro/Railway structures.
Shri Sumeet Mahajan is working as JGM in E-6 grade (₹90,000–2,40,000) from May 30, 2025 — less than a year. The advertisement requires a minimum of four years of regular service in the eligible grade. He does not meet this tenure requirement and has been declared not eligible.
Shri Vishal Bansal has less than 20 years of total working experience — a minimum threshold clearly stated in the advertisement. Not eligible.
What This Shortlist Signals
A final eligible list of just one candidate for a General Manager-level post at a major railway PSU is unusual — but not unprecedented when eligibility criteria are strictly enforced. The reasons for rejection here span four distinct grounds: insufficient experience documentation, salary below threshold, inadequate grade/tenure, and insufficient total experience.
RVNL's detailed reasoning for each rejection is notable for its transparency — each candidate is told exactly which criterion they failed and why, reducing ambiguity and closing the door on further disputes. The Recruitment Cell has explicitly stated that no further correspondence will be entertained.
The lone eligible candidate, Shri Samit Shrivastava, now heads into the interview stage for the sole GM (Design) vacancy — an unreserved post carrying significant responsibility for RVNL's infrastructure design and review functions.
