Dr. Anesh Kumar Sharma, Outstanding Scientist and Director (Technical) at Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad, has been awarded the prestigious ELCINA Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Strategic Electronics & Critical Infrastructure for 2024 - 25.

With over 30 years of dedicated service, Dr. Sharma has been a driving force behind indigenous technology development, secure communication systems, and electronics manufacturing. He has played a key role in critical projects across nuclear, defence, aerospace, homeland security and e-governance sectors, including significant contributions to the Naval Anti-Ship Missile–Short Range (NASM–SR) and Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) programs.
Dr. Sharma also led the design, production and deployment of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), a vital component of India’s democratic process.
At ECIL, he spearheaded the modernization of production through Industry 4.0, lean manufacturing and digital monitoring, enhancing efficiency and traceability.
This award affirms Dr. Sharma’s unwavering commitment to strengthening India’s strategic infrastructure and technological independence.
