PM Modi Unveils ₹50,000 Cr Odisha Push: Indigenous 4G & Major Infrastructure Boom
Prime Minister Modi launched ₹50,000 crore projects in Odisha, including BSNL’s indigenous 4G network, railways, housing, and education initiatives. A major step towards a Developed Odisha.

JHARSUGUDA, SEPT 27: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth over ₹50,000 crore in Jharsuguda, Odisha, signaling a new momentum for a 'Developed Odisha' in line with the commitments made by the central and state governments.
Addressing a massive gathering, the Prime Minister announced major national initiatives, including the rollout of BSNL's indigenous 4G network, and launched key projects across telecommunications, railways, housing, and technical education.

India's Leap in Digital Sovereignty
The Prime Minister expressed immense pride in the launch of BSNL's indigenous 4G technology, calling it a historic moment for India’s self-reliance. "India has now joined a select group of five countries that possess a completely indigenous technology to launch 4G services," Shri Modi stated, highlighting that this move ensures secure and uninterrupted connectivity. The new towers are also solar-powered, making them India’s largest cluster of green telecom sites.
GST Reforms and 'Swasth Nari' Campaign
Shri Modi detailed the benefits of the recent GST reforms implemented from September 22, 2025, which he termed a "gift of savings" to the public. He provided examples of tax relief:

Families now save ₹15,000–₹20,000 annually on essential items compared to the pre-2014 regime.

Farmers save approximately ₹40,000 on a tractor purchase due to the reduced GST rate.
The Prime Minister also promoted the nationwide "Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar" campaign, launched on September 17, 2025, to prioritize women's health. He urged all mothers and sisters in Odisha to avail of the free check-ups being offered under the initiative, which has screened over three crore women nationwide for diseases like diabetes and cancer.
Acknowledging Odisha's long struggle with poverty, the Prime Minister affirmed his faith in the people's capabilities, concluding that with the current pace of development, the coming decade will surely usher in prosperity. The event was attended by the Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, and Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, among other dignitaries.
