GRSE Bags Top Honour for Excellence in Financial Performance
GRSE awarded for Excellence in Financial Performance at Samudra Utkarsh by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, recognising strong growth and leadership in shipbuilding.

New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has been awarded the prestigious Excellence in Financial Performance award at Samudra Utkarsh, an event organised by the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production, showcasing indigenous warshipbuilding on 25 November 2025.
The award was presented by Hon’ble Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, recognising GRSE’s exceptional growth and leadership in the defence shipbuilding sector.
GRSE has maintained strong momentum in both operational and financial parameters. The shipyard has built 803 platforms, including 114 warships, the highest delivered by any Indian shipyard since the commissioning of its first indigenous vessel, INS Ajay, in 1961. In the last five years alone, GRSE has delivered 14 warships and eight commercial vessels, including exports, demonstrating resilient execution capabilities.
On the financial front, GRSE has achieved phenomenal growth, reporting a 345% increase in revenue from operations and a 244% rise in Profit After Tax over the past five years.
Beyond naval contributions, the shipyard has delivered over 5,900 portable steel bridges to the Indian Army, Border Roads Organisation and other agencies, supporting disaster response and connectivity in remote regions.
The recognition highlights GRSE’s ongoing commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, defence self-reliance, and excellence in national infrastructure development.
