Bank of Baroda commits to deepen inclusive growth in the State of Mizoram

Aizawl, 12th January 2026: Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, met Shri Lalduhoma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, and Shri Khilli Ram Meena, IAS, Chief Secretary of Mizoram, in Aizawl during her visit to the State today. During the meeting with the Chief Minister, Ms. Vaheed discussed how Bank of Baroda can continue to be a key partner with the Government of Mizoram in the State’s developmental journey by further strengthening developmental financing and promoting inclusive growth.

During her visit she reiterated the Bank’s commitment to improving its presence in the State and supporting various developmental initiatives through enhanced banking solutions, including credit delivery. Bank of Baroda’s Credit Deposit ratio in Mizoram stands at 87%, reflecting the Bank’s strong contribution towards credit deployment and economic activity in the State.

Ms. Vaheed also apprised the Chief Secretary about the progress made by the Bank under the campaign “Your Money Your Right”, launched by the Department of Financial Services, Govt. of India, aimed at refunding unclaimed deposits transferred to RBI’s DEAF account to rightful account holders/legal heirs. In this regard, she handed over the details of DEAF accounts of Government Departments and Institutions of the state. Shri Meena discussed the expansion of the Bank’s branches in key centres to further strengthen banking access and expand the Bank’s footprint in the State. He appreciated the Bank’s efforts and assured all possible cooperation and support for the initiative.

Shri Prabhat Sharma, Chief Operating Officer; Shri S. P. Nayak, Zonal Head, North Eastern States Zone; and Shri Sanjay Pratap, Regional Head, Guwahati Region, were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda said, “This visit reflects the Bank’s strategic focus on advancing credit flow, deepening financial inclusion, accelerating branch expansion, and fostering sustainable socio-economic growth in Mizoram. We aim to empower local communities through enhanced access to digital banking and tailored credit solutions that drive entrepreneurship, employment, and inclusive prosperity, reaffirming our dedication to making banking more accessible and development-focused for the region.”
