Bank of Baroda Strengthens Development Partnership with Mizoram Government
Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, along with Shri Prabhat Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Shri S. P. Nayak, Zonal Head, North Eastern States Zone, and Shri Sanjay Pratap, Regional Head, Guwahati Region, met Shri Lalduhoma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, at the Chief Minister’s Office in Aizawl.
During the meeting, Ms. Vaheed discussed how Bank of Baroda can continue to support the Government of Mizoram’s developmental initiatives by strengthening developmental financing and promoting inclusive growth. She reiterated the Bank’s commitment to expanding its presence in the State and enhancing banking services, particularly in the area of credit delivery.
Ms. Vaheed later met Shri Khilli Ram Meena, IAS, Chief Secretary of Mizoram, and briefed him about the Department of Financial Services, Government of India campaign “Your Money Your Right”, which focuses on refunding unclaimed deposits transferred to RBI’s DEAF account to rightful account holders or their legal heirs. She also handed over details of DEAF accounts belonging to Government Departments and Institutions and requested the State administration’s assistance in identifying depositors and facilitating timely refunds.
The Chief Secretary discussed plans for the expansion of Bank of Baroda branches in key centres to further improve banking access across the State. He appreciated the Bank’s efforts and assured full cooperation in the initiative.
Bank of Baroda reaffirmed its commitment to citizen-centric financial empowerment and the socio-economic development of Mizoram.
