MTNL discloses default outstanding payments of 7 Public Sector Banks, approx Rs 8346 crore
Union Bank of India, SBI, Punjab National Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank, UCO Bank and Bank of India. The total outstanding amounts from the banks are Rs 8346.24 crore as of March-end.

New Delhi: State-owned Telecom Firm, MTNL, has announced the disclosure regarding default payment of Principal (Instalment) and Interest with the PSU Banks in respect of closing of financial business till 31.03.2025. The Seven Public Sector lenders have defaulted, and loans are converted into NPA.

Meanwhile, the total Financial debt of the Listed Company, including Short-Term and Long-Term debt, is Rs 33,568 Crore (including a Bank Loan of Rs 8346 Crore, an SG Bond of Rs 24071 Crore, and a Loan from DoT for paying SG Bond interest of Rs 1151 crore).

The committee, which will be made up of representatives from the central government's telecommunications department, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), and the state's urban development department, will submit its report in four weeks.
