S&P Assigns BBB/A-2 Ratings to Bank of India; Outlook Stable
Mumbai, 8 September 2026: Bank of India has informed the stock exchanges that S&P Global Ratings has assigned issuer credit ratings to the bank.

The ratings were assigned by S&P Global Ratings on 7 September 2026.
According to S&P, the ratings reflect a very high likelihood of government support if needed, given Bank of India’s role as a public sector bank and the government’s majority ownership. The agency also noted the bank’s sufficient capitalisation, solid funding and healthy liquidity as key supporting factors.
The stable outlook indicates that S&P expects the bank to maintain an adequate capital position along with solid funding and liquidity over the next two years.
