New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the premature repatriation of Shri Sudarshan Bhagat IOFS 2012 currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Coal to his parent cadre on personal grounds.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions the competent authority has cleared the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Coal for his early return to cadre with the provision of extended cooling off.
Shri Sudarshan Bhagat has been directed to be relieved of his duties with immediate effect and report to his parent cadre accordingly. The approval follows a reference made by the Ministry of Coal through its Office Memorandum dated January 16 2026.
The order was issued on January 29 2026 by the Director MM Department of Personnel and Training. Copies of the memorandum have been forwarded to the Cabinet Secretariat senior officials in the Department of Personnel and relevant administrative desks for necessary action.
Premature repatriation of officers on personal grounds is processed in accordance with established central staffing and cadre management norms. The inclusion of extended cooling off indicates that the officer will be subject to the applicable conditions before being considered for future central deputation.
