Govt Re-designates Shri Komaljit Meena’s Post as Director in Ministry of Defence
New Delhi, December 10, 2025: The Government of India has approved the re-designation of the post of Deputy Secretary, presently held by Shri Komaljit Meena, IRS (IT:2012), as Director in the Ministry of Defence. The decision comes as per the approval of the Competent Authority and follows the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Defence.
According to the official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the re-designation will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date Shri Meena assumes charge of the upgraded post—whichever is later. The position has been re-designated as a measure personal to him, valid until March 5, 2030, completing his full five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Shri Meena’s central deputation began on March 6, 2025, and the restructuring of his post marks an elevation aligned with his ongoing responsibilities within the Ministry of Defence.
The order has been communicated to the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Revenue, and senior officials in the Establishment Office for administrative compliance and records.
