400+ Startups Join BPCL-IIT Kanpur Push to Transform India’s Energy

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, organised the MC²+ Ignite outreach event at IIT Kanpur to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s energy sector.

Over 400 Startups and Researchers Participate

The event brought together more than 400 startups, researchers and academicians from across the region. Discussions focused on India’s rising energy needs, taking innovations from laboratories to the market and developing indigenous energy technologies.

A technical roundtable between BPCL’s technical experts and IIT Kanpur professors also explored research areas aligned with the MC²+ Ignite programme.

Applications Open Until September 15

The initiative aims to connect promising startups and research capabilities with opportunities in the energy sector. Applications for MC²+ Ignite will close on September 15, 2026.
