IPS Amit Sinha appointed first VC of Uttarakhand Sports University
Senior IPS Officer Amit Sinha has been appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sports University. He has been associated with Uttarakhand cadre of 1997-batch.

The appointment has been made for one year but it is subjected to the government’s right to appoint the first Vice Chancellor of the University, and the tenure can be extended by three years.
The significant post is relatively considered as full-time post and could be held on a deputation basis and Mr. Sinha is likely to be relieved of his current responsibilities like ADG and Special Principal Secretary to the government.
Further, Sports Director Ashish Chauhan has assumed the role of Registrar for the Sports University, while VN Pandey, Finance Officer of the Sports Directorate, has been appointed as the Finance Controller.
