Railway Board Approves Deputation of Shri Alok Sahay to BMRCL
The Ministry of Railways deputes Shri Alok Sahay, IRSEE, to join Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. as Director (Operation & Maintenance) until his superannuation in July 2028.
New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has approved the deputation of Shri Alok Sahay, IRSEE (Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers), currently serving as Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE), East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar, to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
The decision follows East Coast Railway’s proposal referenced in letter dated 24 June 2025, and the approval has been issued through Railway Board communication No. 2025/E(O)II/8/57, dated December 05, 2025.
Shri ALOK SAHAY (Date of Birth: 18 July 1968 | Date of Initial Service: 08 April 1991) has been selected for the position of Director (Operation & Maintenance) at BMRCL. His deputation will be governed by the usual terms of deputation, which include:

Parent cadre pay plus deputation allowance

Tenure valid up to his date of superannuation (31 July 2028) or until further orders, whichever is earlier
The Railway Board has requested East Coast Railway to relieve the officer at the earliest and to communicate the date of relief to the Board accordingly.
As per DoP&T guidelines (O.M. No. 2/6/2023-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 22 March 2023), the officer will be deemed relieved upon expiry of the deputation period, unless formally extended with prior approval.
Copies of the communication have been forwarded to BMRCL headquarters, senior officials of the Railway Board, and other concerned departments for necessary action.
