Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangen appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes

New Delhi, 7 September 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangen, IAS (MN:1993), presently in the cadre, to the post of Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, from the date of assumption of charge of the post until his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, by temporarily downgrading the post to Additional Secretary level.

Vivek Kumar Dewangen is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1993 batch from the Manipur cadre, a Direct Recruit (DR) entrant through the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
