NEEPCO Restores 135 MW Panyor Lower Hydro Unit After Flood
September 7, 2026: NEEPCO has restored Unit-3 of the Panyor Lower Hydro Power Station, bringing the 135 MW unit back into service on September 2, 2026, following the severe mud-water flash flood of June 24.
The restoration followed extensive mud-water ingress at the station. NEEPCO said the rapid restoration involved round-the-clock coordination and technical efforts by its engineers, O&M contractors and BHEL teams.
According to NEEPCO, the restoration marks a significant step in bringing the affected generation capacity back into service and supporting stability and reliability of the regional grid.
