HUDCO & NIUA Inaugurate Workshop on Urban Challenge Fund
New Delhi, September 7, 2026: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) organised a workshop aimed at strengthening municipal leadership for India’s urban transformation.
Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD, HUDCO, and Dr. Debolina Kundu, Director, NIUA, inaugurated the workshop on “Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) – Decision-Making, Investment Readiness and Urban Transformation” in the presence of senior officials of HUDCO.
Reiterating HUDCO’s commitment to supporting urban development, the CMD urged municipalities to overcome challenges and develop bankable project proposals.
The two-day workshop has been organised by HUDCO’s Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI) under CITIIS 2.0. It brings together Municipal Commissioners and senior officials from States and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to build capacities for planning, financing and delivering investment-ready and bankable urban infrastructure projects under the Urban Challenge Fund.
Experts from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), HUDCO, NIUA, World Bank, academia, industry and leading urban practitioners will share practical experiences and best practices in urban infrastructure financing.
