Bilaspur | December 2025 South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has taken a major step toward environmental sustainability by inducting 60 electric vehicles (EVs) across its headquarters and operational areas, reinforcing its commitment to cleaner and greener transportation.
This large-scale adoption of EVs is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions, improve local air quality, and decrease dependence on fossil fuels across SECL’s operations.
The initiative aligns with the national vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, who has consistently advocated for the transition to clean energy, promotion of electric mobility, and development of a climate-resilient and sustainable India.
By integrating electric vehicles into its core operational framework, SECL is actively contributing to India's broader climate commitments, including the national objective of achieving Net Zero emissions and building a greener future for coming generations.
SECL’s move reflects how public sector enterprises are playing a pivotal role in driving India’s sustainable development agenda.
