Foreign exchange reserves of country surge over 15 billion dollars
Gold reserves increased by $1 billion over the past week, reaching a total of over 74.32 billion dollars.
India's foreign exchange reserves rose to over 653.96 billion dollars, an increase of 15.26 billion dollars, after the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) currency swap operations last month in the week ending March 7.
Foreign currency assets, a significant part of the reserves, increased by more than 13.93 billion dollars to more than 557.28 billion dollars, according to the RBI's Weekly Statistical Supplement. Gold reserves increased by $1 billion over the past week, reaching a total of over 74.32 billion dollars.
Additionally, the Central Bank's standing in the IMF climbed by 69 million dollars to more than 4.14 billion dollars, and Special Drawing Rights increased by 212 million dollars to 18.21 billion dollars.
