61st Annual Safety Week 2018 Prize Distribution and Concluding Ceremony

New Delhi: Central Coalfields Limited under the aegis of DGMS Ranchi &Koderma region and in association with NTPC, JMDC, Tata Steel and Hindalco has organized the 61st Annual Safety Week 2018 – Prize distribution and Concluding ceremony at Shramik Stadium, Sirka, Argada Area, CCL on Friday, the 6th September 2019.
 
The concluding ceremony was graced by the benign presence of Sri Gopal Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, CCL, Sri Subhro Bagchi, Dy Director General Mines Safety, South Eastern Zone, Sri V. K. Srivastava, Director Technical (Operations), Sri Bhola Singh, Director (Technical/Project & Planning), Sri R. S. Mahapatra, Director (Personnel), CCL, Sri UjjawalTah, Director Mines Safety, Ranchi, Sri A. K. Mishra, Director Mines Safety, Koderma, Sri Anand Agrawal, Director Mines Safety (Electrical), Executive Director of NTPC, Sri Prasant Kashyap, Company level Union representatives from different trade unions, other dignitaries from DGMS, all Area General Managers and the warriors of our coal industry- the esteemed workforce.
 
Mines Safety Exhibition was inaugurated by Dy Director General Mines Safety, SEZ, Sri S. Bagchi. Different coal companies falling under the Ranchi and Koderma regions have participated in the Safety Exhibition. The safety stalls exhibited mainly the models based on use of latest technology in ensuring mines safety with mass production technology. The first prize winner was N.K. Area, CCL. They presented a model of underground working with continuous miner and shuttle car combination and strata control & its continuous monitoring strain gaused roof bolts, tell tale etc. Second prize Winner was Argada Area. They presented an automatic recording of vehicle registration number by ANPR camera. This facilitates the man less recording of vehicles entering into mine and leaving the mine premises.
 
A huge crowd of more than 4000 persons gathered to commemorate the occasion.
Sri Gopal Singh,CMD, CCL in his presidential speech stressed upon the strengthening of health and welfare measures extended not only to the persons employed in the mine butto the society under our command area. Our priorities should be overall development of villagers, poor and workmen with a goal of healthy, prosperous and developed society. The seriousness with which he stressed upon the need of healthy and safe work environment, indicates that the future will be for the safety and welfare of the workmen and the society in his able leadership.
 
Sri S Bagchi, Dy. DG, SEZ deliberated the future plans of the directorate General of Mines Safety to further enhance the safety in mines and said that the recent module of Safety Management Plan is the biggest tool in ensuring safety in mines.
Respectable trade union members have also expressed their views in improving safety standards of the mines.
Prizes were distributed among the winners of different trade tests in individual category and among the winners of the different events in group category.
This mega events of concluding ceremony organized at a remote place at the door steps of the workmen, successfully propagated the safety awareness among the executives, staff, workers and the whole society.
