Beijing  January 15: China has expressed strong interest in expanding its cooperation with Canada across several high-growth sectors, including clean energy, digital technology, modern agriculture, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and finance, as both nations seek new engines of economic growth.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang made the remarks on Thursday during talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Beijing.

Premier Li said China welcomes greater Canadian investment and hopes Canada will offer a fair, open, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies seeking to operate in the country.

Following the high-level discussions, the two leaders witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation agreements spanning key sectors such as trade, customs, energy, construction, culture, and public security, underlining the intent of both sides to broaden economic and strategic ties.

The renewed engagement comes as both economies look to strengthen growth through collaboration in advanced industries and sustainable development.
