China to Issue 7 Billion Yuan Treasury Bonds in Hong Kong
China’s finance ministry will issue 7 billion yuan in RMB treasury bonds in Hong Kong on Dec 10, with full details to be released by HKMA’s CMU.
New Delhi, December 3 — China’s Ministry of Finance has announced plans to issue the sixth batch of renminbi-denominated treasury bonds for the year in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on December 10.
The upcoming issuance will amount to 7 billion yuan (approximately USD 989 million). Details regarding subscription, maturity, and other issuance terms will be made available through the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Central Moneymarkets Unit, the ministry said in its statement.
The move reflects China’s continued efforts to deepen offshore RMB markets and strengthen financial cooperation with Hong Kong.
