MCL Inks MoU to Fund Rs 1.26 Cr Skill Training Programme with CIPET
New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has taken a major step toward community empowerment by partnering with Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar to provide industry-oriented skill training to youth from its operational areas.
The initiative aims to equip 40 young candidates with technical skills in Electrician and Fitter trades, enabling them to secure sustainable employment opportunities and strengthen their livelihoods.
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, MCL will provide Rs 1.26 crore to cover training, food, and accommodation expenses for the students enrolled in the two-year residential ITI training programme. The initiative is designed to ensure structured skill development while removing financial barriers for participants.
The collaboration reflects MCL’s continued commitment to promoting inclusive growth in coal-bearing regions by investing in education, employability, and long-term community development. By creating a pipeline of skilled youth, the programme is expected to enhance local workforce readiness and contribute to socio-economic progress in the region.
