NTPC Ash Utilization Meet 2026 at NTPC Bongaigaon
NTPC Limited’s NTPC Bongaigaon is hosting the two-day Ash Utilization (AU) Meet 2026 from May 21 at Bongaigaon, bringing together officials and experts to discuss sustainable ash management practices and digital transformation initiatives across NTPC stations.
The event is being organised around the theme “Driving Sustainable Ash Utilization with Digital Transformation” and aims to provide a collaborative platform for discussions on digital initiatives, infrastructure strengthening, logistics optimisation, and sustainable ash management.
The meet was inaugurated by Ravindra Kumar, who highlighted the strategic importance of repositioning ash as a valuable resource with significant revenue-generation potential.
In his keynote address, Ravindra Kumar stressed the importance of digital integration in improving efficiency and transparency in ash management operations. He encouraged all NTPC stations to actively utilise the AsTraM portal for enhanced monitoring of ash tracking, transportation, and billing processes.
He also emphasized the need to optimise the Rail-Cum-Road (RCR) mode for strengthening long-distance ash transportation logistics, expedite the completion of Dry Ash Extraction System (DAES) facilities, and maintain strict safety standards at ash dyke sites.
The inaugural session was attended by senior NTPC officials, including Vijay Chand, R.B. Mallik, Chandramouli Kasina, Arnab Maitra, G. Raja Shekar, Anurag Gupta, and Subhash Gokhale.
The event has brought together Heads of Ash Utilization Departments (AUDs) from various NTPC stations, representatives from corporate ash management and operations teams, regional officials, and members of the USSC Group.
The programme includes technical presentations by AMCC, Corporate Vigilance teams, NTPC stations across different regions, and the USSC Group, along with sessions focusing on new initiatives in ash utilization and management.
A technical visit to the NTPC Bongaigaon Ash Dyke has also been planned as part of the programme to provide participants with practical exposure and facilitate solution-oriented collaboration in sustainable ash management practices.
