New Delhi: NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited (SJVNL) for the development of a 200 MW wind power project, reinforcing India’s growing focus on renewable energy expansion.

The agreement was signed by representatives of NIRL and SJVN Limited in Chennai, in the presence of senior leadership from both organisations. The ceremony was attended by Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited and Chairman of NIRL, and Shri Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN Limited, along with Director (Finance) and Director (P&P), NLCIL, and Director (Personnel), SJVN Limited.

The 200 MW project is part of SJVN’s 600 MW ISTS-connected Wind Power Projects (Wind-2 Tranche), awarded through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 500 million units of green energy annually, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and sustainable power generation.

The signing of this PPA reflects the strong collaboration between two leading Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and underscores their shared commitment to accelerating renewable energy deployment, supporting India’s clean energy transition, and ensuring long-term energy security.
