State-owned NLC India Limited (NLCIL) on Monday signed a major agreement with the Government of Gujarat to develop large-scale renewable energy projects involving an estimated investment of ₹25,000 crore, marking one of the most significant green energy collaborations in the state this year.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Saurashtra and Kutch Region in Rajkot. The partnership will focus on building new renewable capacity across solar, wind, hybrid and battery energy storage technologies.

Under the pact, the renewable projects will be implemented through NLC India Renewables Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLCIL and the company’s dedicated clean energy arm. The projects are expected to generate substantial employment and support Gujarat’s growing demand for sustainable power.

The Gujarat government will facilitate necessary approvals, clearances and regulatory support to ensure timely execution of the projects in line with prevailing state policies.

The collaboration aligns with NLC India’s long-term plan to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, while also supporting India’s broader goals of expanding non-fossil fuel power generation and moving toward net-zero emissions.

With this partnership, Gujarat further strengthens its position as a leading renewable energy hub in the country, while NLC India accelerates its transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy portfolio.
