NSIC and AMTRON Sign MoU to Boost Industry 4.0 and MSME Growth in Northeast

Guwahati, January 12, 2026: The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (AMTRON) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the areas of Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies, with the aim of strengthening entrepreneurship and MSME growth in the North Eastern Region of India.

The MoU focuses on promoting start-ups, women entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through extensive training and skilling programmes, while utilising NSIC’s training infrastructure located across the country.

Under the agreement, NSIC and AMTRON will jointly implement skill development and capacity-building programmes, establish incubation laboratories, and provide common facility services to enhance productivity and innovation among MSMEs in the region.

The MoU was formally signed by Shri Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M), NSIC, and Shri Narsing Pawar, IAS, Managing Director, AMTRON, in the presence of Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD, NSIC, Shri Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance), NSIC, along with other senior officials from both organisations.

The collaboration is expected to accelerate technological adoption, strengthen the startup ecosystem, and support sustainable economic development across Northeast India.
