India Post Signs MoU with Ministry of Rural Development to Boost Rural Economy Under Viksit Bharat Vision

New Delhi, January 2026: India Post has taken a major step towards strengthening rural India by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Rural Development. The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Minister of Rural Development and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M Scindia.

The partnership aims to expand financial inclusion and create new economic opportunities across rural regions. Through this collaboration, India Post will leverage its vast nationwide network to support government welfare delivery, banking access and digital financial services in villages.

The initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Viksit Bharat by ensuring that rural communities receive direct access to essential financial and development services. India Post will serve as a catalyst for rural economic growth by empowering farmers, small entrepreneurs, self help groups and rural households.
