GRSE promotes two officials to post of Chief General Manager and General Manager

Two Officials of Garden Reach Shipbuilders (GRSE) have been promoted to the posts of Chief General Manager (CGM) and General Manager (GM).

1 Cmde Vinith Aerat, IN (Retd.), General Manager has been promoted to Chief General Manager with effect from 15th July, 2025.

2 Cdr. Aravind Shankar, IN (Retd.), Additional General Manager, has been promoted to General Manager, effective July 15, 2025.

Cmde Vinith Aerat, IN(Retd.) joined GRSE on 01 Dec 2021 as General Manager (Technical). He holds a degree of Bachelor of Technology in Naval Architecture and Ship Building from Cochin University of Science and Technology. He further pursued a Diploma in Naval Construction from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Master of Technology in Interdisciplinary Programme of Corrosion Science & Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Prior to joining GRSE, Cmde Vinith Aerat had an illustrious career spanning over 27 years in the Indian Navy.

 At GRSE, he initially spearheaded the design activities of multiple shipbuilding projects for nearly 3.5 years. Currently, he leads the Business & Technology Development, Corporate Communication and New Product Design Divisions, with a strategic focus on the development of advanced solutions for the Commercial Shipbuilding sector including autonomous vessels.

Cdr Aravind Shankar, IN (Retd.) joined GRSE on 02 Feb 2017 as Deputy General Manager. He has completed B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding from Cochin University of Science & Technology. He has further enhanced his academic credentials with a Diploma in Naval Construction from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, PGDIM in Hull Inspection & Trails unit, PGDIM in Operation Management and Master of Business Administration (Operation Management) from Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Prior to joining GRSE, he served in the Indian Navy for over 20 years. During his tenure at GRSE, he initially contributed to the Production Planning and Control Department for nearly 5 years. He was later assigned to core production functions, where he is currently leading production teams across various projects of the Shipyard.
