IRSE Officer Shri Lakshman Singh Appointed as MD of K-RIDE on Deputation from BMRCL

New Delhi/Bengaluru, November 28, 2025: The Ministry of Railways has formally approved a significant leadership move, appointing an experienced railway technocrat, Mr. Lakshman Singh (IRSE), as the new Managing Director (MD) of the Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Ltd. (K-RIDE).

This appointment is a major positive step, as K-RIDE is the joint venture responsible for the crucial Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP), which has faced significant delays and a prolonged search for a full-time technical head. Sources indicate this move is expected to accelerate the BSRP's progress by bringing in an expert in the field.

Transfer Details and Tenure

• From: Mr. Singh is currently serving as the Chief General Manager (Civil) at Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL).

• New Role: He will assume the post of Managing Director, K-RIDE, on deputation under the Government of Karnataka.

• Duration: His deputation is approved for a period of three years from the date he takes charge.

• Terms: He will receive his parent pay along with the applicable deputation allowance.

• Key Instruction: The Railway Board has requested that BMRCL relieve Mr. Singh immediately so he can take up the new, critical assignment.
