MTNL Appoints Sunil Kumar Ranjan as Government Nominee Director

New Delhi: State-owned telecom company Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) on Tuesday announced a key change in its Board of Directors, in compliance with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.

The company informed stock exchanges that Shri Shivendu Gupta, Deputy Director General (WPF), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), has ceased to be Government Nominee Director with effect from January 13, 2026, following the withdrawal of his nomination by the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and IT.

At the same time, MTNL announced the appointment of Shri Sunil Kumar Ranjan, Deputy Director General (C&A), DoT, as the new Government Nominee Director. His appointment takes effect immediately and will remain valid for a period of three years, or until the date of his superannuation, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.

The company stated that the changes have been communicated in accordance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, and requested stock exchanges to take the information on record.
