PESB Recommends Shri Arun Kumar Tyagi for Director (Technical) at Northern Coalfields Limited

PESB announced its recommendation of Shri Arun Kumar Tyagi, General Manager at SECL, for the post of Director (Technical), Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), following interviews with 12 candidates on November 10, 2025.

New Delhi, November 10, 2025. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Arun Kumar Tyagi for the important position of Director (Technical) at Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Schedule 'B' Central Public Sector Enterprise. The decision was made during PESB Meeting No. 109/2025, which took place today at 11:30 AM.

Selection Process Concludes  
The selection meeting aimed to find the best candidate to lead NCL's technical operations. The board interviewed twelve experienced applicants. These candidates had valuable backgrounds from various roles in major public sector companies, including Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, such as South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), along with NLC India Limited and NTPC Limited.

The Recommended Candidate  
Shri Arun Kumar Tyagi, who is currently the General Manager/Area General Manager at Gevra in South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), was the candidate put forward by the PESB. His selection is an important step, and his appointment now awaits approval from the competent authority.
