Rabindra Kumar Agarwal (IAS) appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of FCI

New Delhi, December 31, 2025: Shri Rabindra Kumar Agarwal, an IAS Officer of the 1997 batch of Kerala cadre, has been appointed as Chairman & Managing Director, Food Corporation of India in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

 He has replaced Shri Ashutosh Agnihotri, IAS (AM:99), upon his appointment as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.

Currently, he is serving as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation.

He holds a graduate degree in Mathematics and a post-graduate degree in Operations Research from Delhi University. He started his career as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in the year 1999 and became Additional Director in Tourism Department of Kerala in the year 2001.

He has worked in various capacities in the Urban Administration and Development Department, Social Welfare Department, Finance and Water Resources Department.

He also served as Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Department in Kerala and Secretary, Finance Resources, Government of Kerala.
